Warhammer Quest, The Castle Cellar Caper

As folks are aware, I’ve been on a massive Warhammer Quest drive this year. All sorts of goodies from heroes to boardgame tiles themselves. This time, I went all out. Wholly new miniatures and an entire scenario pack of gaming tiles. I bring you : The Castle Cellar Caper : A Junior Knight’s Bretonnian Adventure.
I finally printed out the tiles (though the printer shop set one page too dark) mounted them and got my man Nick around to have a game. We’ve worked out most of the rules to balance …

Warhammer Quest, Painting continues!

Of late I have been posting quite heavily on Warseer’s Warhammer Quest sub-forum. Great group of hobbyists there and we’re all encouraging each other mightily. That said, I’ve been neglecting posting fantasy work to Eastern Empire!
Time to rectify that; first up my WIP plastic Barbarian using a host of parts and even a mace built from five pieces! I know, I’m mad.

Rifleman …

Thoughts? The mould lines were of minimal fuss to clean, the casts were crisp and the sculpting very adept for the scale. Certainly a benchmark set to buy; as I will surely compare future purchases to these figures.
Painting wise the surface was smooth and any surface blemishes were in odd corners and out of the way locations; it really amounted to nothing to complain …

Scaling Sci Fi 15mm Miniatures

It is pretty clear I like short miniatures if I play Tau, now I take it even further, well – shorter. Following a recent product 15mm miniatures release by Khurasan Miniatures; their FDF Exterminator Squad in Extreme Enviro Suits to be precise, I’ve taken the dive into 15mm gaming.

These lads distinctly reminded me of XCOM – Terror from the Deep Magnetic Ion Armor the moment I saw them.

I will admit to instantly trying this colour scheme first. But I’m beginning to zero in on something like this :

Not unlike Khurasan’s …
