I’ve been dabbling with this idea for awhile, but merely slapping on a tau torso and some pulse rifles didn’t quite fit with me. I’ve seen a couple of variations of this about the internet – but most seem to shove them into the force rather than have them as varied addition.

Well modeller’s eye struck again (15mm miniatures one that is) a couple of days ago when I passed a broken toy discarded in the street – the tail section leapt out at me – it looked like a stealth UAV wing form. I just had to have it.
Last night I finalised the look of the craft, adding a 20mm gun pod, sensor package domes, some panel lines and a fair amount of judicious sanding (particularly after an abortive alignment drilling). I also put in to plugs on the top …

Well imagine my surprise when my Modeller’s Eye spied an unexpected utility for my spare MAC Laptop box insert..

My my.. that recess can fit my painting tile.. and, that depression a row of paints.. and and.. that box my water jar..!

By jove he’s done it lads, huzzah!
The high edge actually forces me to paint high, which is great for my ergonomics. My possible paints sit in the recess, current use are on the left and brushes tuck neatly to the right. I love it.
