Goblins of the Bloody Shield Tribe
|Few years ago I put together several goblins using both current and the new Night Goblin plastics, with Gretchin and Gnoblar heads. The end result was a collection of slender, less overly cartoonish goblins.
Among them was the guy, the one in the fur hat..
Well, I kinda liked that dour goblin. So I made a few more..
Then well, I had to make more to round out the RNG tables..
So today, finally motivated to work on minions to face my young Knight in his quests – I naturally started on even more; using Gnoblar heads and Wolf Rider Goblin helmets..
Suffice to say, I think I’m building a small goblin army, for alongside these lads, I have 3 trolls, 3 Ogres, around 60 Night Goblins and well.. I’ll leave the rest as a surprise. Base wise, I will be using round bases; the square ones get reused for painting projects.
Who says Warhammer Quest doesn’t generate sales?
I suspect the young Knight Jean, will have a constant adversary in the Bloody Shield Tribe.
Love the look of the goblins and you are right, Quest produces loads of purchases, not all from GW, which is good. Look forward to seeing the whole army 🙂
Thanks! Quest certainly does, couldn’t quite believe I have a small Goblin army in my collection; it was a real..What the? Moment haha.
They’re looking great, Tael!
And long live WHQ! 😀
Cheers! 😀 Long Live WHQ
My deepest apologies for dredging up an old post, but I love the way you’ve been putting together your goblins!
In my own works I’ve noticed the gnoblar heads are much smaller than their goblin counterparts, enough to produce a “pinhead” look on the hill goblin/gitmob bodies. I was curious as to where you’re sourcing these larger Gnoblar heads.
Thanks in advance! Can’t wait to see what’s next!
Thanks for checking out one of the oldest posts! No such thing as dredging up old topics 😀
Indeed, the Gnoblar heads are smaller – so I tend to bulk out with a helmet and ears from 6th edition goblins in later versions.
In these examples, when I put on the helmets, these particular three heads suit the helmets well. The first version at the very top only has a little ball of green stuff to fill out the back of the head when adding the cap helmet.
There really isnt any larger gnoblar heads, mostly I choose the few really large heads from the original plastic regiment. Other than that, I’m keeping an eye out on current plastic kits to raid the Grot heads. Though, most recent examples appear to be sculpted in a different style.
Hope this helps! If you spy other goblin heads you’re curious about, shout.
