Heroquest, The Wood Elf Waywatcher
|Â I’ve had this model since 2012, yikes!
But eventually, he has received some paint, huzzah!
I chose the classic Wood Elf colours, a bit punchy and bold. Just like the art and themes of Heroquest. I love this boardgame and the understated and iconic aesthetic of all the models. I will do a showcase of more classic Warhammer models I have brought into my Heroquest collection, purchased with these tenets in mind.
For now, The Waywatcher:
Dang, realised I’m going to have to come up with a Hero card! 🙂

Oi he is fantastic just the kind of classic old wood elf theme that is missing fro. The age of sigmar. I have to admit I am liking the chaos department of AOS but for the elves dwarves and human can’t help but long for the old World
I can agree, though the revenants are a nice forest spirit – they can be used in Old World games easily instead of dyrads. However, humans, dwarves and elves in general, I do miss from fantasy. Looking at artwork in AoS, just appears like 40k with more swords.
Lovely muted scheme. The grey gem is a particularly nice touch; not only does it look good, but it fits with the slightly ambiguous nature of the Wood Elves. Any thoughts on doing a story-led battle report sometime using your Quest figures?
Thanks Apologist, wanted to keep him simple and have a slight autumn feel. As for story driven campaign, I’m inking the introduction art tonight for the first two games 😀
Lovely painting Seb, love classic models and am impressed with the look of your clean marble bases, very nice 🙂
Cheers Daxio 🙂 Classic are such a treat to paint, not overly embellished. I should do a tutorial on the bases, crazy easy to do. 🙂
