New retro Imperial Guard revival
|I recently started to find a desire to resurrect my first army, the Raehaniv Regulars, an Imperial Guard Regiment I ran first, from 1996 – 2002. I sold them onto a good friend, Mike Major of Canada’s Astronomicon – now integrated with his Danikan Bloodcoats.
Well now, I started with decisions, as I just discovered bits and have two choices based on Lore to boot. See below:
Classic Jump Pack or Classic Jump Pack? Either way I can imagine this trooper boosting into the fray; raining plasma death.
This Assault team is well underway preparing for a supply drop from a legendary hobbyist. With gratitude to @death_of_a_rubricist I am closer to my teenage dream of an Imperial Guard Assault squad with jump packs. Ten jump packs arrived with a couple of new goodies I’ll reveal later after a little barter trade.
Onwards to the reinstatement of my first 40k army, the Raehaniv Regulars. 2nd Edition style. (Amazing how many weapons were never available as models then, but are now)

Hey those are really great!
I like the bigger turbine format better btw, the marine backpack look has been taken by, well, marine backpacks for 30 years.
Are you going to do anything to modernize their bodies, or just go with them as they are? I can certainly see value either way (and doing nothing is 10x faster!)
I’ve gone with the bigger turbines, you’re quite right. Additionally, there will be some body modification to provide more dynamic poses too 🙂
