Warhammer Armies on Parade Board
|Axe Bite Pass Goblin Armies on Parade Board
In October I attended Armies on Parade 2019 and entered my goblin horde. I fun day meeting various folks, sadly Warhammer Wellington only had three entries. A Dark Eldar force, Sigmarites and my goblins.
Here is the lead up to the day as I build the board to be module so I could pack down for an airplane trip.
I chose to do a field before a gatehouse from the mountains – that the lads had broken through and then poured out; which worked with their style. This idea settled, I set about compiling a board with smooth surfaces for the grass areas, and then a few open bare earth sections. Using spackle and two versions of grit for the earth. Additionally I used actual stones to texture the inside rock face next to the castle wall and then lay at the base of the cliff.
Additionally, I realised, with all the lads down on the board – it got really messy. So I decided – I’m going to pin the lot!
After this stage dried, I then spent about 20 mins sieving flock in Summer shades with a few shadowed areas of darker woodland green flock. The result was spot on for what I wanted and I couldn’t be happier. I’ve also included my first test shots of the lads standing about before pinning, because I like minis that can stand without a base 😉
Next up, the army all laid out on the board and results 🙂
hey friend, how is going on your campaign scarab tomb??? do you accept private ordees for tiles??? best regards and great work friend!!
Hi Albert, man – real life can be a sod – but, I have all the cards done for each room and a couple of maps to show how to use their unique layout. The game book is taking a lot of time and so I will release this as a thematic guide and suggested dungeons book. Really pushing find the time to have it out this year.
