Warhammer Goblin Wolf Riders Modeller’s Guide
|Recently an Instagram hobbyist, Wilbur (and his own Wolf Rider post!), who I admired the work of over the years when I was on Instagram a fair bit (@eastern.empire.wip) – asked me about my Goblin Wolf Riders and making “some” for himself. Hah! Thats what I said, it got out of hand, is an understatement.
Being the middle of end of year design work leaves me a bit all over the show, so resting upon Wilbur’s patience, I finally delivered on my promise of a guide about Wolf Riders for my Bloody Shield tribe and subsequent Goblin Raiders
You can download a 300dpi, print quality PDF guidebook, with artwork by Paul Bonner, and many work in progress images of the Wolf Riders below:

Fantastic guide, I’m amazed at how professional it looks! I’ll definitely try building some of my own, should have everything except for the Chaos Hounds.
Thanks! Appreciated! Send over some shots when you’re done! Would be cool to make a montage of everyone’s Wolf Riders! š
Will do! š
Your work is great and inspiring as always, thanks for sharing! It’s rare to see someone show so clearly how they did a conversion. Did you ever take a look at Rangers of Shadow Deep as a possible adaptation/update of the WHQ system? We’ve improvised a combination of RoSD and Frostgrave to fill the skirmish/quest level of our Warhammer Fantasy campaign. We made a few modifications to make it less “swingy” (it uses D20 so the dice roll to stats ratio is way higher than the warhammer systems) and of course it takes some conversion of stats and things, but it’s fun and fast. Love your updates, happy holidays!
Thank you! You’re very welcome š I havent had much time this year for hobby and hobby related art in general, so thats an unfortunate no on the Rangers of Shadow deep. But I do see the post it on my board across the studio! š Thanks for the reminder! š
I always love your goblin works, they are some of the most evocative and thematic bunch of horrible gitz, in the best way, and I for one would love to see more guides like this. Unfortunately, Instagram cant seem to find your account.
Thanks for checking out the horde. Was only ever meant to be 12 goblins for Warhammer Quest haha. The response has been really good, encouraging to say the least. Putting together my goblins may be the next one. Instagram wise, whilst I did not delete the page after I left – looks like Instagram has taken it down over the last couple of years.
Iām in love with these guys!
Those night gobbo heads work great on them too.
How do you think it would look with just using the febrisian wolves as they are?
Thanks! š
The new Night Goblin sets have been a trove of new heads for sure. Using a full sized Fenrisian wolf will likely look closer to the new Wolf Rider set in Age of Sigmar. They’re quite long in the body by comparison to my ‘mini-cooper’ scaled wolves hah.
