Warhammer, Mountain Dog Riders
|Much converting and gluing later, the riders are started.
Spent more than a couple of hours on these riders and their compact mountain dogs. They consume a lot of parts and spares, particularly bags and raided goods. Overall, really enjoying the results so far.
Next up, the champions (2) and greenstuff work for ears, fur, tails, leathers, gaps and more stowed gear.
I’ve taken a series of individual shots and group images of the Work in Progress. Enjoy having a browse of the group whom use bows, spears, javelins and swords.
Couple of group shots including a hunting vignette with a boar I had handy for scale:
Meanwhile, hauled out some old models of mine for a reboot – The City Guard.
Thanks for reading 🙂

They look smashing Seb, just the business for any orc or goblin force 🙂
Thanks Daxio – looking forward to painting them up, have to resist rushing the putty work 😀
Looks cool, but are you going to do anything with the dogs faces? They need more forward facing eyes like a real predator.
Hadn’t thought of that too much; something to consider when I start sculpting on fur etc 🙂 Good point though!
Those are some impressive goblin raiders, loads of character on them!
Cheers Modhail! 😀 Been enjoying these guys greatly.
Love these guys! Where’s that javelin arm and quiver from?
Cheers Gniknok 🙂 Gosh..hmmm.. if I recall I used spikes from a Chaos Trophy rack off the Rhino or Dreadnaught accessories to make the javelin tips. The hand was I think an Empire banner bearer, tip add to the bottom end. The quiver is a classic goblin Wolf Rider quiver, the interior carved out to fit. Its been a couple months since scratchbuilding these lads, hope that helps 🙂
