Warhammer Scenery
|Of late I have been building my scenery backlog.
It has been really fun to model my first Warhammer house for an upcoming game, it grew from there to a double storey house, a farmers cottage and a silo. All presently work in progress.
I’ve been etching wood grain effects and using heavy sand paper to create daubed texture on the walls. Few more details to go on yet like windows and Bretonnian embellishments.
This led to work on a couple of game boards, neutral flat, so I can lay down whatever scenery I wish in future. I’ll be making a greenspace version next.
You may recall I had a Warhammer Battleboards table set, I’ve since sold that on. It gave me a taste of a fully modular table and now I want to practice on these smaller pieces to then create something truly worthwhile. 🙂
More soon!
Sebastian.
Wow, terrain! I’ve been looking at your excellent miniatures for years but this is the first time I’ve seen terrain on your workbench. I’m looking forward to both your build process and results!
Haha I know right?! Man I do so little of this stuff – total shocker. News at 5, Aliens have landed and pigs seen flying. 😀
Human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together… mass hysteria! ;P
Pretty much, you’re a Soothsayer!
Nicely done Seb, look forward to seeing a whole townscape 🙂
Thank you Daxio – though considering the effort, I may look into those bought MDF kits to use as a town haha 😀
I like what you have done so far, it has inspired me to start working on my fantasy terrain. May I enquire as to how you made the silo? Keep up the good work mate.
Thanks Dan, I used spent packing tape rolls with a texture foamcore wrap about the tubes. I used Rubber bands to keep the foamcore pinned down; the seam I’ll be dressing up a bit to hide; likely a rain spout into barrel.
That’s a simple yet effective idea of doing that. I’m going to start work on my Zandri mordheim table. In the fluff, the city sits on the border of Nehekara and Araby so it’s architectural style would borrow from both cultures. A few mates of mine and I are working on putting together a campaign so I’ll have to keep you posted on my progress.
Pretty much, bound it up and set it aside as I built the houses. Very interested to see your Zandri work, as I have a mind to explore Araby in a Warhammer Quest campaign. Please do keep in touch, it would be great to see! 🙂
