Warhammer Tau Prosthetics
|Been awhile, but I am finally working on tau conversions.
The first idea for a veteran strike force is a couple of warriors who have seen the horrors of war and lived through it; not without serious injury.
I drew up a peice of art a couple years ago for a member on Advanced Tau Tactica, for a campaign pack with upgrades and veteran points.
The bionic leg always struck as a slick idea and I have since wanted to model it.
The first pass, likely to have some tech-bolt details. I also kept the hooves, rounding them further to seem artificial when the painted work comes. It seemed right that a Fio technician would have enough vanity and care to craft a leg and hoof not far removed from the owner’s original.
More soon as I begin to evolve this new team.
Thanks for reading,
Sebastian.
Cool idea
I was thinking about this leg last night, and while I really like how it looks, I guess I always thought of Tau as the types to either replace a leg through cloning, or retire the fire warrior (or soylent green them). So in my mind, a tau prosthetic would be a short term thing, not like the more brutal Imperium.
Good point and I have to say that is in the back of my mind too. Potentially this guy could be using one as a sign of badassery; or the down time for a force grown limb is just too long for his operational status. I had once thought of a Spec Ops character in a story (not 40k) where force grown limbs can leave a fine pink scar line at the section of regrowth. One can choose to have this dealt with, or leave it like a tattoo. The character in the story had someone etch a scar line about his neck; ie. did they regrow his head or his body last time he got injured? Real trench humour. 🙂
