What a busy month
|Hi All,
Well it’s been over a month since I lost posted, but I have not been idle. For one, I’ve started an Instagram account for the site and been getting inspired by fellow hobbyists on the platform. It has been quite easy to flick a hobby desk image of my latest
So lets get up to speed on what I have been snap uploading onto Instagram.
Amongst various items folks here know well, I’ve been uploading new work for Warhammer and Inq28 (Inquisitor/Necromunda gaming).
First up is work in progress on a Troll Boss character for heroes to well, encounter on a bad day.
After that I finally sat down and finished a long standing project to create an Autocannon equipped Scout Heavy. I used a Death Korp AC with some minor mods and a few modelling touches. A previous version whilst smaller than most Marine weapons, seemed overly large. The slim profile now looks much better.
The following model is the beginnings of a Navy Away team I’ve been wanting to create ever since Modhail started his enviro-suit boarding party.
What’s better than a Naval Boarding Shotgun? An ornate tri-barrel break-action scatter gun wielded by Master At Arms Jarn Hann. A WIP glimpse at one of the away party soon to make planet fall.
When you need a big gun blessed by the strength of the Omnissiah, you need a big wrench. That and Bosun Lowden with his enhanced grip. A seasoned campaigner. His loss of limb was a gain in capability maintaining the gun decks. Very WIP but an indication of direction for warrant officers and ratings.
The ship’s Armsmen are happy to tease the anxious biologis’ assistant, Abner. Yet they have no idea the worlds he has seen in the footsteps of his Xeno Biologis Magos master. Jumpy, nervous and stuttering, the fact he has survived thus far has earned the quiet respect of the Magos; who always demands a faster pace and more to carry. A few more touches and greenstuff, next time we meet Abner he’ll be painted.
Next, a peek at a WIP Cestus Type close quarter servitor. Seen in combat arenas as much as bodyguard roles. Ceramite power armour chassis provided enough protection to bring the servitor’s power fist and chain blade to bear. More parts in the mail with potential head swap to come. Model originally GW Bones award prototype Adept Mechanicus models.
Inspired by two ‘grammers @warbosskurgan and @lordignatiusvult I began modelling Old Terra #40k civilians for my up coming Scythes marines campaign. Here we have a warehouse master being asked to sign off on the stores; clearly nonplussed at the adminacrat before him.
More civilians, a commoner on his way to a task of import, passing an Adminacrat with bionic leg and cane. The Arbites don’t mind folks having canes, as long as they’re no longer than 5ft, made of wood and remain largely blunt. Though some denizens of the underspire push these guidelines to the limit.
Every hive has some variation of the Brat. Uphive juvies in garish outfits disturbing the low level dwellers. The Golden Sons use basic truncheon like canes, barely legal in the eyes of the Arbites, cheap enough to be tossed away when the Boys leave. Their catch phrase “Purity or Pain?” alludes to their favoured game of taking hivers’ purity seals or a beating if not possessing one to give it over. The Ecclesiarchy keep quiet, they make good credit with replacements and constant purity monitoring, the Arbites don’t get involved due to uphive barony ‘Dataslate drudgery’, that and the Golden Boys often find unsavoury types. These bloody encounters alert the Arbites to possible mutant prowlers after they clean up what’s left of the Sons.
Not much is known about the hunchback, each day he collects a single digiscroll from the Temple of His Holy Vision, then crosses a span of the Hive spire on foot if need be, to deliver it. Whilst he has an access all areas Ecclesiarch genekey, no one dares attack the old man due to benefactors within the Temple.
Another more Gothic figure for my civilian collection. If you need to venture from the under spire to the first sub levels above, no better guide than ‘Sticks’ can be found. Leading with candle light, of which he carries a personal supply, one can also follow him by the scraping of a giant incense orb. A courtesy he says, for the underspire does play heavy on the nose. His payment is whatever the traveller can spare. The fate of those whom dare cross Sticks is known only to the underdark, for he snuffs out his candle and fades into the shadows.
And…. that should have us all caught up 😀
Next will be an update to the Warhammer Quest Tiles library!
Thanks for reading!
Sebastian.
Wow, a lot to love there.
Scout rebuilt with Space Crusade scout legs? Respect!
Civs are always something the hobby needs more of, adds an immense bit of color to a skirmish game, and are always something useful for more RPG type encounters/quests etc. Maybe throw in a few more wires/hoses/knee and shoulder pads though to move them a bit more away from the Empire look.
Golden Son is awesome, would love to see a little warband of those.
And I too have been busy, but unfortunately without anything sufficiently “finished” to post as of yet.
Cheers man, and good critique on the Imperial citizens – totally agree on their utility; which is my intention in the near future.
I’m actually tallying up parts for the Golden Sons, haha, they’ve drawn me in.
As for Space Crusade scouts, thanks man – I suggest checking out my Space Marines, the Scythes of the Emperor – the-scythes.com, plenty more there too and on my instagram feed.
Thanks for dropping by LP 🙂
Out of place question for this page.
I been exploring your site for a half I love the layout, and ease at which I can explore your work. I’m curious as how you make this site, I’m currently working on make a blog to share my work.
Hi, I use the WordPress platform, a good selection of free templates that through some minor edits you can tweak to just how you like it, or happily run the template as is with your own artwork. I run several sites both personally and professionally with WordPress. Quite the advocate 🙂

Been a fan of your work ever since I saw it in white dwarf thank for all you make.
Thanks man, hopefully you receive the reply on the other comment 🙂
